All – it’s ‘bean’ a while since I’ve posted (admittedly).  I have temporarily suspended this endeavor, but I assure you – Arcadia will roast again.   While not boring you with too many details –  I am currently focusing on an academic endeavor which is taking up a lot of time. Working a full-time job, being a dad (and Mom sometimes – wife is a Flight Attendant and gone often), and the academic demands has proven to be quite a heavy load.

In the future, I will continue this endeavor, and in the meantime, I will be seeking out investors who share the same vision I’ve expressed to you all along.  I would like for this effort to take on a physical presence, running from a great location locally in the Arcadia neighborhood.  If you, or someone you know, would like to be a part of such a start up in the Arcadia neighborhood feel free to refer them to this site and use any of the contact methods in the right contact section.

Many thanks to those who have continued, and I know will continue, to support this effort!

Sincerely,

Anthony @ Arcadia

Ok, so my “day job” is being 60% geek, 10% manager-like and 30% “professional” business-like. Somewhere in there should probably be 10% for being a workplace clown, but that stretches across all of those areas above – anyone will tell you.

I work 200 yards down from THE busiest Starbucks in all of Arizona (Located in Park Central). Perhaps there is a busier one now-a-days, but this is what I was told a few years back. Being so close to this “coffee establishment” (which also serves, mcmuff…I mean egg muffin sandwiches, parfaits, and even beer in at least one state), I get invited to Starbucks 2-5x per day. I accompany individuals needing their froo-froo drink and tea fix once or twice a day, but respectfully decline drinks most of the time. I admit, if I am HARD UP and need caffeine – I will sometimes get a light water Americano, but that is usually when my head is hitting the keyboard and I don’t want to subject myself to workplace coffee that comes from a syrup dispensing mechanism (sounds gross and it is).

Getting to the point of this post – as of late, you either love, don’t care, or hate the new logo change at Starbucks. I’m not going to express my opinion, but I would like to get yours. If you have time to answer one single survey question and expand on the answer if you feel strongly enough – please do so below.

Thank you very much!

Catching my brother on a layover,  dropping a few bags off and catching up.

This doesn’t mean I “deliver”.  Lol.

NEW COFFEES
Very excited for next week to get here. Ordered some additional coffees to expand my offerings.

- Ethiopian Sidamo (Which is what I have been offering – and I have received excellent feedback on.)
- Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
- El Salvador Santa Rita

At first was a little apprehensive on purchasing another Ethiopian, but as a result of the vast difference in where they’re grown and the way they are prepped for market (processed); they will definitely yield two vastly different cups. To learn more about how coffees are processed read here.

I have mixed feelings on purchasing washed (wet processed) coffees. I hear it takes a lot of water and the conservationist in me would like to minimize such waste; especially when the countries that many of these coffees come from are drought prone to begin with. That is my initial gut feeling, but I’ve not really put a lot of research into learning exactly how much is used/wasted.

NEW IDEAS
In the next two weeks, Arcadia will offer all three coffees as a “pack”. Comprised of 3 – 1/2lb natural kraft bags, it should provide a nice way to mix up your purchase and add a little variety to your morning coffee. The three pack will likely run between $16 and $18 (Still figuring out my total cost with the additional packaging).

Stay tuned to our Sales page where we will provide links to purchase the new items. Also planning to upload some pictures of them as well.

Thanks for your support!
